UPDATE: Sony has reversed their decision, plans to only shut down PSP store access.
After feedback from the PlayStation community, Sony has decided to keep the Stores open on PS3 and PS Vita.
Sony announced they are pulling the plug with plans to shut down the PlayStation Store for PS3, PSP, and PS Vita this Summer. PSP’s and PS3’s stores are to be closed on July 2, while the PS Vita store will stay open until August 27. After those dates, you will no longer be able to purchase digital copies of games or DLC for these systems. Sony is expected to announce these closures later in the month. Make sure to access the PS Store and download any digital games or DLC for these platforms before you lose access!
